Hooray for National Scrapbook Day!

Can it be?!

Another year has come and gone and it's time again to celebrate National Scrapbook Day!

We couldn't let the day go by and not join in on the fun and we hope you'll join in too!

Given NSD is terribly close to next week's Teacher Appreciation Week and next weekend's Mother's Day it seems only fitting that we host a challenge to honor those! {see details below!}

And to help inspire you...take a peek at what Designer Patti Milazzo has made...

Cut a 3.5” circle from brown and a 4” circle from pink pattern paper. Layer these and machine stitch around twice. Trim the pink circle with scallop edged scissors. Apply U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam to the back of the stitched circles and adhere this near the left side of the card.

Cut out flower designs from pattern paper with a craft knife and apply U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam to these as well. Apply them near the top and bottom left on the circle. Apply dimensional liquid to each flower and let dry.

Cut a piece of ribbon to fit across the circle. Leave extra at each end. Apply Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares to the ends and tuck under the scalloped circle.

Create a bow from ribbon - I made a double loop of ribbon (remember to leave tails) and secured a smaller piece of ribbon around the front center of the loops. I applied Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares to secure the center piece in place. I inserted 2 hat pins (with beads) into the center of the bow. Then I applied the Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares again to secure the bow to the ribbon on the circle.

To finish the card, add additional paper flowers and leaves with U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam and Adhesive Squares. Cut out sentiment phrases, apply Adhesive Squares and tuck under the flowers. Punch several butterflies and stitch onto card. Add hand stitches with embroidery thread. Then apply small pearl accents to complete.
